Game Highlights:
- Mike Gamboa who did not play in the previous UAAP Season scored only 6 points but made the crucial 3 pointer with 33 seconds left in the game to give UP the lead
- Nigerian-Rookie Alinko Mbah with 10 points and 9 rebounds
- Mike Silungan led the UP Fighting Maroons with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
- Carlo Gomez contributed 12 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists
- Debut win for new Coach Ricky Dandan

FEU wins 70-48

Some notes from the game:
- Alvin Padilla top scored for UP with 17pts
- Magi Sison also played well with 14 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks
- Although their defense has improved, UP shot only 20/60 from the field (33.3%)
- Mike Silungan played sparingly and is still recovering from flu
- Miggy Maniego/Carlo Gomez at sick bay
- Mark Lopez/Woody Co out with an injury

Last game will be this Saturday, 2pm vs UE, as UP avoids another 0-14 season in the UAAP which they also had in 2007, let us all support our team in their last game. And this will also be the last game of Martin Reyes, Magi Sison and Woody Co (who is rumored to play in their last game against UE). UP Fight!

UP Fighting Maroons vs Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals
UP wins 78-75

Rookie Mike Silungan scored 35 points to help the UP Fighting Maroons win over Emilio Aguinaldo College, 78-75 and won their second straight game after losing their opening game in the 2010 FilOil Flying V Preseason Tournament.

Notes from the Game:
- Mike Silungan scored 24pts in the 1st half, 13 in the 2nd qtr (5 three point shots)
- Woody Co, Magi Sison, Alvin Padilla did not play the game
- Sophomores Moriah Gingerich (2 three point shots) and Carlo Gomez each had 8 and 12pts respectively
- Rookie Martin Pascual scored 7pts
- Another Rookie Joshua Saret scored 6pts and made a clutch layup at the end game to stop the run of EAC

UAAP Season 72

UP Fighting Maroons vs. NU Bulldogs
NU wins 74-64

UP Fighting Maroon rookies Alvin Padilla and Carlo Gomez led UP in scoring for this game but using the rookies most of the game and the lack of a good ball handler led UP to a loss over the NU Bulldogs, 74-64. With co-captain Arvin Braganza sidelined by an injury, the UP Fighting Maroons committed 37 turnovers.

Padilla had a good 1st half scoring 11 points (9 in the 1st quarter), but he did not score in the second half. Veterans Martin Reyes, Woody Co and Magi Sison who was suppose to carry UP this year did not have a good game either scoring 9, 9 and 4 points respectively.
