UP loses last game

UAAP Season 72 2nd Round

UP Fighting Maroons vs. Adamson Falcons
AdU wins 74-61
Sep 12, 2009, 2pm
Araneta Coliseum

The UP Fighting Maroons loses its last game in the UAAP Season 72 vs the Adamson Falcons 74-61. UP led most of the first half but a run by Adamson in the third quarter made sure that they will not lose a close game again. In playing his last year in the UAAP, and dedicating this game to his late father, Agapito who died last monday, Arvin had solid game contributing 10 points. 4th year player Woody Co led UP with 13 points and ended as the top scorer for UP this season.

UP ended the season with 3 wins and 11 losses, the same record last year and tied NU for 7th place in the overall standings. But it is without a doubt that the highlight for this season were the wins versus Ateneo and La Salle, giving Ateneo their only defeat this season.

Box Score:

AdU 74 – Camson 13, Colina 12, Canuday 11, Nuyles 10, Galinato 6, Alvarez 5, Margallo 4, Lozada 4, Canada 4, Cabrera 3, Lapitan 2, Penalosa 0, Sandoval 0, Ruiz 0, Basillio 0.

UAAP Season 72

Please support the final game of the UP Fighting Maroons vs Adamson tomorrow, Saturday at 2pm, Araneta Coliseum. We hope we can surpass our record last year (3-11) with a win versus the Falcons. This game is also dedicated to Mr. Agapito Braganza, I think Arvin will play on this last game.

Then the much awaited UAAP Cheerdance Competition will be held this Sunday, 1pm at the Araneta Coliseum, hope the UP Pep Squad gets to retain their crown and the three-peat.
