UP Fighting Maroons vs NU Bulldogs
NU wins 70-66
A strong first half by the UP Fighting Maroons gave them a 20 point lead at half time 41-21 ( and biggest lead at 22 in the 3rd), but the NU Bulldogs made a run in the 3rd quarter and eventually beat UP, 70-66. The turning point of the game was when Woody Co committed a foul against NU then after confronting the referee, Co was called for a technical foul which cut the lead of UP even further.
UP finishes the 1st round with 0 wins and 7 losses. It is really a sad day not only for the team but for the UP community. We know that the team is very demoralized right now, but there’s no way to go but UP in the second round and we hope that they can learn from their mistakes in the second round and be more competitive in the next 7 games.

I thought I’d be seeing the Fighting Maroon’s first victory even though Woody Co got fouled early in the third quarter since his presence in the first quarter wasn’t really felt. I just hope that MBT will come back in the second round and hopefully clinch a spot in the final four.
haizzz…wala tlaga… this game was very disappointing… fouls were a big factor.. and NU shoots the free throw pretty well…
20 points na un oh..nahabol pa… me and my family watched this…and they keep on saying nung humhabol na NU…”matatalo pa yan just wait..” dahil pag crunch time natataranta na UP…

yeah, losing the game against the bulldogs is quite disappointing and truly heartbreaking -with the added pressure on getting that very elusive 1st win for season 73… looking at the positive side, it showed that the boys were at their A game the 1st half-their best game ever for this season as a TEAM… they showed best DEFENSE their leading to good offense…you can see CONFIDENCE in their every move.. with all these it means they have what it takes to win games -they just have to BELIEVE in their selves !!! … right now after this lost its all in the mind for them to overcome that neartbreaking lost… BELIEVE because the whole UP community believes in you all… Go Go Go UP Fighting Maroons!!!!! FIGHT till the end…
Nawala ang composure eh… Woody Co should also know na isa cya sa mga major option when it comes to offense… Isa din cya sa mga veterans dapat iwasan nya yung mga unnecessary complains lalo na lamang sila…
